Emma Eberlein - Pot Buoys Gallery

Pot buoys gallery is a boutique little shop on St. Agnes in the Isles of Scilly, full of art, sculpture, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, gifts and curiosities, all with a connection to Scilly. It is run by me, Emma Eberlein. I am an artist myself and make jewellery from recycled beach plastic, make recycled sculpture and paint on driftwood. I wanted to combine my work with work from artists on St. Agnes. Scilly and beyond. I hand pick, curate and display everything myself, trying to bring the fun into art by displaying work on found objects like flip flops, bits of driftwood and other cool things.

I live on the tiny island of St. Agnes with my Kiwi husband Mark who is a chef and artist. My family are from St. Agnes and Yorkshire, so I spent my childhood in Leeds and came down here whenever we could, I have always wanted to live on St. Agnes. I worked as a teaching assistant here for many years which I loved but when the opportunity came to open up a gallery in what used to be The Bulb Shop, I took it.

I am always looking out for unusual, cool and contemporary work and like to focus on recycled.

There is a lot of history on Agnes and I have carefully kept a display of all the tools, farm equipment and glass buoys belonging to the previous owners of the barn, which was a cow shed, flower bulb sorting barn, gift shop and now a gallery.

All the work I have for sale is inspired by Scilly, there are a lot of talented people here and I wanted to promote that. Scilly is a very special place and I want to have work which will remind visitors of their stay here. It is a friendly little place, which hopefully brings a smile to your face when you visit my gallery.

I look forward to seeing you there!
